Student Injured on Field at Middletown North Monday Night
The school initially called for a medevac helicopter, but the student was instead taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Middletown, NJ - A student at Middletown High School North sustained a head injury Monday night, Middletown police confirmed to Patch Tuesday morning, but officers stressed that it does not appear to be a serious, life-threatening injury.
The incident reportedly occurred on the turf playing fields, possibly during JV football practice, where a student sustained a head injury. The school, taking extra precautions, initially called for a medevac helicopter, said Det. Lt. Paul Bailey. But once officers and EMS workers got there, they canceled the helicopter call and the student was instead taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center.
When asked by Patch, Middletown schools superintendent Dr. Bill George said that, due to HIPAA laws, he cannot comment on any student medical-related issues.
