UPDATE: Swimmer Dies After Rescue From Rip Current, Report Says
An 18-year-old North Jersey man who was rescued from the ocean in Sea Bright Monday has died, published reports said.

An 18-year-old North Jersey man who was in critical condition after lifeguards rescued him from the ocean in Sea Bright has died, according to published reports.
Kevin C. Searfoss, of Rockaway, had been in critical condition at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, the police chief told the Asbury Park Press. He was pronounced dead at 11 p.m. Monday, NJ.com reported.
Sea Bright Chief John Sorrentino told NJ.com that two male swimmers got pulled into a rip current as they swam on an unguarded section of the beach around 1 p.m. Monday.

Their companions on the beach began to yell, attracting the attention of lifeguards on a nearby beach, who ran over to help, the chief told NJ.com.
One swimmer was reportedly quickly rescued and did not need medical attention.
