Waves of Support: Building Up Our “Piers”

The Navesink Business Group in conjunction with Eatontown Industrial Park Association, Freehold Business Network for Success, Monmouth Ocean Development Council, and the Red Bank and Seaside Rotary Club are thrilled to announce the kick-off event of our 2014 initiative: Waves of Support: Building Up Our “Piers”.

About Waves of Support:

Find out what's happening in Middletownfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

A year has passed since the Jersey Shore was devastated by Superstorm Sandy.  However, for many of the small businesses in our coastal towns, ravaged by the storm and the aftermath, recovery remains in the early stages.

Facing everything from construction setbacks, a slump in tourism traffic felt throughout the region, to the September fire that destroyed the rebuilt Seaside boardwalk – small businesses in the coastal towns of Monmouth and Ocean Counties continue to face unprecedented challenges.

The Navesink Business Group is honored to be combining efforts with a number of other like-minded organizations, who know more than anyone that small business is the backbone of our economy, and that tourism is the lifeblood of many of our businesses along the Jersey Shore.

The Waves of Support was created to specifically help small businesses who continue to struggle, yet have not given up hope.

The mission is three-fold:

 To  amplify and combine efforts to bring tourism back to Monmouth and Ocean county coastal communities;

  • To provide a financial life raft to small businesses who are still struggling to reopen;
  • To acknowledge and recognize that recovery will be long term and that multiple waves of support will be required.

Please join us for our kick-off event on Wednesday, November 13 from 6-9 pm at the Beachcomber Bar & Grill, 100 Ocean Terrace, Seaside Heights, NJ.  The cost is $25 per person; cash bar.

The evening will include networking and information about upcoming events as well as giving special recognition of the first responders who fought the Seaside fire. 10% of the proceeds of this event will benefit the Seaside Rotary Club. All remaining proceeds will go into a Not-For-Profit Sandy Relief Fund targeting small business owners to bridge the financial gap to reopen, or stay open.
