Westminster Pres Church Coordinates Second Relief Drive For Hurricane Victims

(Middletown, NJ)…Westminster Presbyterian Church is redoubling its effort and inviting the greater community to do the same to help Hurricane Irma victims by setting up a second Donation Trailer on its Great Lawn at 94 Tindall Road in Middletown. Sixteen million Florida residents are without power as Hurricane Irma blazed a path through the entire length of the state causing catastrophic damage. It is estimated that power will not be restored to Florida residents for a minimum of 10 days.

Westminster first Donation Trailer to aid Hurricane Harvey victims was donated by a Linden NJ based company, Speed Global Services, and placed on Westminster’s Great Lawn on Wednesday, September 6th. According the Westminster’s pastor, the Rev. Joseph Hein, “Middletown residents have responded heroically with great urgency and compassion.” The 54 ft. trailer is now completely full and scheduled to leave Middletown for Taft,

Texas on Thursday. The Relief Supplies will be delivered to residents of Taft and surrounding communities on Sunday.

The second trailer, bound for Florida, will also be provided by Speed Global Services and arrive on Westminster’s Great Lawn tomorrow. Donations from the community including items such as baby bottles and formula, diapers and wipes, mold-killing disinfectant, mops, brooms, shovels, dust masks, heavy-duty trash bags, work gloves and personal supplies will be welcomed beginning Thursday, September 14 through Friday, September 22nd.
