Read to a Dog: Trained therapy dogs will be on hand for young readers to practice reading skills to furry friends; highly motivational and fun, building confidence and self-esteem. There will be “reading buddies” available for younger siblings as well as for the K-5 readers to practice prior to their “dog time”. For independent readers only grades K-5. Reading Buddies: Each child is paired with a teen Reading Buddy to practice reading skills by reading out loud. Studies show reading for about 20 minutes each day will improve your child's skills, especially if they read to someone! Register for a specific time slot. For grades K-5. Wednesday, December 19th , 3:30-4:30 pm, 30-minute time slots; Thursday, December 20th, 6:30-7:30 pm, 30 minute time slots.
