Young Adult Self-Defense: Getting ready to head off to college? Don't leave without learning how to take care of your most valuable possession-YOU! Staying home? Self-protection is a valuable skill to learn. Join Taekwondo Head Master Evan Henry for an informational lecture program on how to be aware and protect yourself both on and off campus. Some demonstration, no public participation. Tuesday, August 20th @ 7:00 pm.
Crochet for a Cause: Crochet blankets, scarves or hats to donate. Instructions and materials provided. This program is for teens in grades 6-12. Earn community service hours. Participants need a basic knowledge of crochet. Thursday, August 22nd @ 2:30 pm.
College Essay Workshop: Certified college admission counselor Christine Zirngibl will explore what topics work well for the personal essay, what to avoid, how to develop an effective narrative and what techniques make an essay stand out.
