HEY KIDS! DESIGN THE NEW LIBRARY LOGO AND WIN A PRIZE.
As the Middletown Township Public Library approaches its 100th anniversary, the Library Board is looking for a new logo that conveys that the Library is a community center with more than just books. Its mission is to enrich, empower and educate our community through education and entertainment.
The logo contest is open to all Middletown students in grades 6-12. Submissions may be emailed in jpeg format or mailed to the Library in print format. The logo must be usable in both color and black-and-white and will appear on all Library materials.

One winner will receive a $250 prize and community-wide recognition.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY OFFERS COMMUNTY SPACES FOR PRIVATE EVENTS.
Middletown Township Public Library Board of Trustees has expanded the current meeting room rental policy to include rentals of the Community Room for private events on Saturday nights and Sundays during weekend hours when the Library is closed to the public. With a room capacity of 150 people, the Community Room is the ideal space for private events such as birthday parties, fund-raising events, business meetings and other private gatherings.
Fees are $150 for a two-hour rental to $300 for a four-hour rental, making this an affordable option for residents seeking a large space for a weekend event.

TELL YOUR STORY – Growing Up In Middletown. Are you a long-time resident of Middletown? Have you seen a lot of changes since you were a kid? Join Girl Scout Julia in sharing your story in a Middletown Oral History project. Register at the Reference Desk to schedule an appointment. NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS, a peer-led volunteer local job search support and networking group, meets on Monday, July 31st @ 7:00 pm.

Chess: If you haven’t played before, we will teach you. Planning, confidence, patience and discipline are all benefits of playing chess. We just think it’s fun. No registration required. Friday, August 4th @ 3:30 pm.

Lapsit Storytime for Pre-Walkers - Introduce your baby to the library during this gentle lapsit program for pre-walkers accompanied by a grown-up. Rhymes, songs, puppets, and picture books encourage language development. Grown-ups get to socialize with other adults and babies get used to being around other babies. A drop-in program for ages up to 32 months. Tuesday, August 1st @ 10:00 am.
