In this exposé, an intrepid group of Florida farmworkers battle to defeat the $4 trillion global supermarket industry through their ingenious Fair Food program, which partners with growers and retailers to improve working conditions for farm laborers in the United States. Writing Group. Do you enjoy writing? Come to this weekly workshop to improve your writing. Share your work with others, give and receive constructive criticism, and utilize prompts and activities to increase your creativity and writing skill. Come every week, or any week. Next Chapter Book Club is for young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We will meet for one hour each week for a 14-week session to read aloud a book as a group, discuss it, and have social activities. Friday, March 13th @ 3:30 pm.

Manga Club discusses manga and anime with other teens. Each meeting we will also watch a few anime episodes. Friday, March 13th @ 3:30 pm.

Art Club. Do you enjoy creating art? Join other teens as we draw on the theme of the Chinese New Year. Get your drawing pads, pencils, and ideas ready and come to the Teen Room to relax, chat, and draw. Saturday, March 14th @ 4:00 pm.

Drop In Activities: Look out for Leprechauns (as you explore Ireland). For all ages. Sunday, March 8th through Saturday, March 14th all day.

Passport to Reading Finale. This event is for those who finished the Passport to Reading program. There will be several stations featuring different activities. Sunday, March 8th @ 2:00 pm.

Math Tutoring. Get extra help with math homework from Middletown High School North High Honors students. No registration required; first come-first served. Grades K-8. Sunday, March 8th @ 3:00 pm.

Mother Goose is an early language, literacy, and social experience for infants and toddlers with their parents/caregivers. Children will sit on their grown-ups’ laps to share songs and rhymes, and participate in a brief book sharing experience. Afterwards, we will have a social time with toys and books. This first group experience provides infants and toddlers with an opportunity to learn to enjoy being with other children and to participate in parallel play. For ages up to 23 months. Monday, March 9th @ 10:00 am.

Drop-In LEGO Building Sessions. We will have our LEGOs out for free in our quiet reading area. Parents bringing younger siblings need to be vigilant with their little ones to prevent choking. No registration is required. For ages 5+. Monday, March 9th @ 3:45 pm.

School-Age Storytime. Designed for older children, this storytime incorporates longer stories, perfect for children with longer attention spans. Parents and caregivers must remain in the library during the program. No registration required. For grades K+. Monday, March 9th @ 7:00 pm.

Kids’ Playgroup. An all-ages playgroup that encourages children to explore hands-on activities and develop social skills. Grown-ups can chat and connect with other parents/caregivers while supervising their children’s play. Tuesday, March 10th @ 10:30 am.

Read to a Dog is a great way to improve the literacy skills of children by providing a non-judgmental listener in our furry friends. Children will read to a dog for five minutes. For independent readers only, grades K-5. Tuesday, March 10th @ 7:00 pm.

My First Cooking Class: Bloomin’ Dirt Cups. Children will be crushing cookies and mixing pudding to prepare a nice dirty home for their gummy worms! For ages 2-6. Thursday, March 12th @ 4:00 pm.

Kids’ Playgroup. An all-ages playgroup that encourages children to explore hands-on activities and develop social skills. Grown-ups can chat and connect with other parents/caregivers while supervising their children’s play. Friday, March 13th @ 10:30 am.

Chess for Kids. Learn to play chess from other kids and teens. Planning, confidence, patience and discipline are all benefits of playing chess. We just think it’s fun! For ages 6+. A drop-in program; no registration required. Friday, March 13th @ 3:30 pm.

Tutoring. Come to the Children’s Quiet Reading area for a free tutoring by high school students. There is no registration for this program; students will be taken on a first come, first served basis. For ages 5+. Saturday, March 14th @ 9:00 am.

Reading Buddies will be available to read with a child. No registration needed. First come, first serve basis. For ages 5+. Saturday, March 14th @ 9:00 am.
