Resume Writing Workshop: Whether you are making a career change or back on the job market after some time away, you need to keep your resume updated. Learn the best way to format your resume, as well as what to include/not include. Wednesday, May 10th @ 3:00 pm.

Debate Club: Learn how to debate using the National Forensics League debate topics. Debate for the Pro or Con Argument. Improve public speaking, writing, and researching skills. Monday, May 8th @ 3:30 pm.

Peer Tutoring: High school honor students tutor in Spanish, French, Science, History and English/Language Arts. For grades 6-9, Monday, May 8th @ 7:00 pm.

Math Tutoring: Free tutoring sessions at the library in the Children’s Quiet Reading Area. Bring textbook and/or homework. Tutoring sessions are for 30 minutes and are scheduled at 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, and 4:30 pm. Upon registering, you will receive an email with your tutoring session time. Tutors are volunteer high school honors students. Tutoring for Calculus and above is not available. Tuesday, May 9th.

Pizza and Pages Book Club meets on Wednesday, May 10th @ 7:30 pm.

Handmade with Love: Learn to knit or crochet and improve your skills while working on a community project. We will be making and donating baby blankets to Project Linus for distribution to families in need in local hospitals. Thursday, May 11th @ 3:30 pm.

Physics Study Group: Study for tests, bring your homework, and ask any questions you may have. Work together to improve your Physics skills. Thursday, May11th @ 4:30 pm.

Chess: If you haven’t played before, we will teach you. Planning, confidence, patience and discipline are all benefits of playing chess. We just think it’s fun. No registration required. Friday, May 12th @ 3:30 pm.

Drop-In LEGO Building Session: We will have our LEGOs out for free-play in our quiet reading area. Parents bringing younger siblings need to be vigilant with their little ones to prevent choking. Wednesday, May 10th @ 6:30 pm.

Toddler Time for Walkers: Toddlers learn by playing, moving, touching, making noise, looking at books, and being loved. Each toddler should bring a favorite grown-up to share in the fun and learning. For ages up to 30 months. Monday, May 8th @ 10:00 am.

Kids Playgroup: A playgroup that encourages children to explore hands-on activities and develop social skills. Grown-ups can chat and connect with other parents/caregivers while supervising their children’s play. A Drop-In program for all ages. Tuesday, May 9th @ 10:30 am.

Gymboree Play and Learn: Explore the senses and support visual and auditory development with tummy time activity, baby massage, parachute and bubble time, first songs and more. This baby class includes parent discussion time to help learn about your child's development. For ages up to 32 months.

Simply Storytime in the Garden: A storytime in the Children’s Outdoor Reading Garden (weather permitting) as we enjoy the sunshine and read books about Animal Mothers in time for Mother’s Day. Bring a towel or blanket to sit on. For all ages. No registration required. Wednesday, May 10th @ 10:00 am.

Art and Authors: This month it’s the great Mo Willems’ Elephant and Piggie. A Dress for Mess event. For ages 7+. Wednesday, May 10th @ 3:45 pm.

Preschool Fair: Searching for a preschool for your child? Speak with representatives from a number of different preschools. Presented by the Middletown Department of Recreation. A Drop-In program. Wednesday, May 10th @ 6:00 pm.

Reading Buddies: Children will be paired with a buddy to practice their reading skills by reading out loud. Studies show reading for about 20 minutes each day will improve children’s skills, especially if they read to someone! For ages 3-9. Saturday, May 13th @ 2:00 pm.
