Online Research at the Library: an overview of the many free resources available on the library website including access to databases other sites such as EBSCO, Reference USA, online newspapers, magazines, and genealogical resources. Teen Reading Week Challenge: Read and book this October and receive an invitation to our International Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre event and a certificate for a free ice cream sundae from Applebees. Sign up online, read any book you like (or listen to an audiobook), and submit the title of the book you read. Through October 21st.
Write Club: Working on a novel or writing poetry? Inspire yourself to write and hone your skills. At each meeting there will be a writing prompt, reading of others work, and discussion. Monday, October 17th @ 3:30 pm.
Math Tutoring: Free tutoring sessions at the library in the Children’s Quiet Reading Area. Bring textbook and/or homework. Tutoring sessions are for 30 minutes and are scheduled at 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, and 4:30 pm. Upon registering, you will receive an email with your tutoring session time. Tutors are volunteer high school honors students. Tutoring for Calculus and above is not available. For grades K-12. Tuesday, October 18th @ 3:30 pm.

Read to a Dog and Reading Buddies for Younger Siblings: Read To A Dog is a great way to improve the literacy skills of children by enabling them to read to a non-judgmental furry friend. For independent readers only, grades K-6. There will be teen reading buddies for younger siblings as well as for the K-6 set to practice with prior to their “dog time.”. Wednesday, October 19th @ 4:00 pm.

Lapsit Storytime for Prewalkers: Introduce your baby to the library during this gentle lapsit program for pre-walkers accompanied by a grown-up. Rhymes, songs, puppets, and picture books encourage language development. Grown-ups get to socialize with other adults and babies get used to be around other babies. For ages up to 32 months. Thursday, October 20th @ 10:00 am.
4-H SET Group: 4-H Science, Engineering, & Technology (S.E.T.) workshops on robotics, programming, health, community, leadership, public speaking and organizational components. Members of the 4-H learn life skills in addition to engineering, design and development to program robots, while developing critical thinking faculties. No registration required. For grades K-5. Thursday, October 20th @ 5:30 pm.
Pokemon Trading Night: Bring your cards to trade with fellow Pokemon fans. Discuss Pokemon books and movies. Play the game. For ages 5+. Thursday, October 20th @ 7:00 pm.
Gymboree: For walkers ages, 12-24 months. Friday, October 21st @ 10:0 am. For children ages 3-5. Friday, October 21st @ 11:00 am.

Reading Buddies: A child learning how to read or struggling with reading is paired with a Reading Buddy! The child chooses a book and reads aloud to their Buddy. Reading Buddies who will help with correct pronunciation, increasing vocabulary, and understanding. what they have read. Upon registration you will be contacted to determine an appointment time at 2:00 , 2:30, 3:00, or 3:30 pm. For ages 3-12. Saturday, October 22nd.
