Write Club: Working on a novel or writing poetry? Inspire yourself to write and hone your skills. At each meeting there will be a writing prompt, reading of others work, and discussion. Monday, September 19th @ 3:30 pm.

Math Tutoring: Free tutoring sessions at the library in the Children’s Quiet Reading Area. Bring textbook and/or homework. Tutoring sessions are for 30 minutes and are scheduled at 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, and 4:30 pm. Upon registering, you will receive an email with your tutoring session time. Tutors are volunteer high school honors students. Tutoring for Calculus and above is not available. For grades K-12. Tuesday, September 20th @ 3:30 pm.

College Essay Workshop with Professor Zirngibl. Learn what college admissions officers are looking for, write a draft of your essay, and learn to revise in this informative and useful workshop. Wednesday, September 21st @ 6:30 pm.

Read to a Dog and Reading Buddies for Younger Siblings encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener in our furry friends. Children will read to a dog for five minutes. For independent readers only, grades K-5. There will be teen reading buddies for younger siblings as well as for the K-5 set to practice with prior to their “dog time”. Wednesday, September 21st @ 4:00 pm.

Drop-In Lego Building: We will have our LEGOs out for free-play for ages 5+ in our quiet reading area. Parents bringing younger siblings need to be vigilant with their little ones to prevent choking. Wednesday, September 21st @ 6:30 pm.

Roald Dahl Birthday Book Chat: To further celebrate author Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday, we will be having a book chat about some of his books. If you have read any of his books, join us in a very informal chat where we can all share. Thursday, September 22nd @ 4:00 pm.

Maker Monday: Explore, predict, tinker and make. This program allows children to develop confidence, creativity, and interest in science, technology, engineering, math, arts, learning as a whole through making. For ages 6+. Monday, September 19th @ 3:45 pm.

Kids Playgroup: Play with us at our all-ages playgroup that encourages children to explore hands-on activities and develop social skills. Grown-ups can chat and connect with other parents/caregivers while supervising their children’s play. Tuesday, September 20th @ 10:30 am.

Toddler Time: Toddlers learn by playing, moving, touching, making noise, looking at books, and being loved. This is what happens during toddler time! Reading Buddies pairs a high school volunteer with a child to read aloud and learn correct pronunciation, vocabulary and reading comprehension. Upon registration you will be contacted to schedule your appointment time at 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:00 pm, or 3:30 pm. Saturday, September 24th.
