Where Can Middletown Residents Get A Third Vaccine Dose?

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Those who are eligible and would like one can now get a third dose of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

In late September, the CDC released the following guidance on who should consider getting the third shot, at least six months after they got the first two shots:

• People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot
• People age 50–64 years with these underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot
• People age 18–49 years with these underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot, based on their individual benefits and risk
• People aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional settings, including healthcare workers, may receive a booster shot, based on their individual benefits and risks.

Where to find a third shot in the Middletown area (Many of these sites require an appointment; call beforehand):

• Middetown Library: Every Wednesday through the end of the year, Middletown will be giving out coronavirus vaccine booster shots from the Middletown Library. They will be giving out free shots of Pfizer. Walk in from 10 - 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room (Middletown Township Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Road).
• Bayshore Pharmacy Cards & Gifts, 2 Bayshore Plaza, Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716: Has Pfizer booster shots in stock. Use their in-store kiosk to schedule.
