MIDDLETOWN, NJ — By 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, Middletown Twp. announced that its COVID test site by the train station had reached capacity and could not be taking anymore walk-ins for the day.

"The Township is working with Immediate Care to address adding more testing dates between now and New Year's Day and will update the website accordingly. Visit www.middletownnj.org/covid19screening for more info," said Middletown Township.

Over the Christmas holiday, between Thursday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 27, Monmouth County logged 3,521 new positive cases, a massive surge from the week before, plus two new COVID-related deaths county wide.
