Who's Running For Middletown Township Committee This Year

Republicans Kevin Settembrino and Rick Hibell will seek re-election, challenged by Democrats Rocky Rios and James Grenafege.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — As happens every year, two seats are up for election on the Middletown Township Committee in 2022.

Current Republican committeemen Kevin Settembrino and Rick Hibell will ask voters to re-elect them this fall. They will be challenged by Democrats Rocky Rios and James Grenafege.

The filing deadline to run was 4 p.m. on Monday. Again, from the Middletown Township Clerk, here is who filed to run:

  • Republican candidates Kevin Settembrino and Rick Hibell
  • Democrat candidates James Grenafege and Rocky Rios

Voters will be asked to select two. The Middletown Township Committee has been led by all Republicans for many years now; Democrat Rios ran last year for Township Committee without success. He got 9,053 votes to Republican Tony Perry's 18,892, according to November 2021 election results from the county.

The election will be Nov. 8.
