2 Pocketbooks Worth $3,750 Stolen From Short Hills Mall: Police
Millburn police apprehended one man in the mall parking lot after Prada employees said two men had taken two purses.
MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police arrested one man on Feb. 8 after Prada reported that two men had each selected a purse at the store at the Mall at Short Hills and left without paying.
Associates at the store told police that the total value of the two purses was $3,750.
A description was put out, and officers Griffin and Ford located one of the subjects, a 37-year-old Bronx man, in Parking Lot D, police said.

An investigation led the arrest of the man and the discovery of numerous fraudulent checks, as well $4,266 of stolen merchandise in his vehicle, police said. The man was issued summonses and released.
In other mall theft news, on Feb. 10, Millburn Police Officer Reid responded to Macy's for a report of theft. Associates said a woman had concealed six items, total value $222, in a shopping bag.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Newark woman who was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility, because there was a warrant for her from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, police said.
