3 Cars Stolen In Millburn, 2 Recovered: Police
Millburn police released details of three car thefts and several car burgaries in September. Find out where.
MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police released details last week of three car thefts and several car break-ins that were reported in September. Two teens were charged in connection with the car burglaries.
Here are the details:
On Sept. 9 at 8:40 pm, Millburn Police Officer Bifano spied a stolen black Alfa Romeo traveling on Hobart Avenue near White Oak Ridge Road.

Bifano attempted to stop the vehicle, but it eluded him, police say. He chased it to Route 24 East, but had to stop due to safety concerns. The case remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
Two days later, on Sept. 11, at 10:45 p.m., Officer Lanni responded to a Whitney Road residence on a report of theft of a vehicle, police said. The resident said that a 2020 Range Rover was stolen from the driveway. That vehicle was later found in Newark, police said.

On Sept. 20, at 12:50 p.m., Officer Marone responded to a Hillside Avenue residence on a report of theft of a vehicle. The resident said a Porsche Macan was stolen from the driveway between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The key fob had been left in the vehicle, police said.
The vehicle was later recovered in Newark. This incident remains under investigation by the Detective Bureau.
Several Car Burlgaries
On Sept. 21, at 3:20 a.m., Millburn Police Officers Frisch, Recinos, and Nacim responded to a Sagamore Road residence on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The investigation revealed that two people burglarized vehicles at residences on Sagamore Road and Glen Avenue, police said.
Officer Recinos found the suspects on Glen Avenue. Alston Najee and Amir Brooks, 19, of Newark were arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft, police said.
Brooks was later released on his our recognizance and Najee was turned over to Essex County Sheriff due to an outstanding warrant, police said.
