5 Car Thefts, Break-Ins Reported In Millburn In Last 2 Weeks Of Month
There were 5 police reports of car thefts and break-ins for the last two weeks of last month in Millburn/Short Hills.
MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police released details of car thefts and car burglaries in the last two weeks in October.
Here is the rundown:
Millburn Police Officer Larcom responded to a Whitney Road residence on Oct. 14 on a report of a vehicle theft. The resident said that at 1:10 a.m., someone stole a 2020 Range Rover from his driveway. Security video was provided and police are still investigating.

Three days later, at 3:33 a.m., Millburn Police Officer Lyons found a stolen Mercedes C30 on Millburn Avenue near Vauxhall Road, police said. He tried to stop the car but it eluded him. He pursued it, but lost sight around Glen Avenue and had to stop the chase.
On Oct. 20, at 12:12 a.m., Police Officer Bifano responded to a Keats Road residence on a
report of burglary to a vehicle. The resident reported that someone entered two of his vehicles
and rummaged through them. Officer Jezewski responded and saw a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder stopped on Browning Road with its lights off, police say. But the driver saw the officer and fled.

The Pathfinder had been reported stolen from West Orange, police said.
On Oct. 28 at 12:56 a.m., Officers Jezewski, Lyons and Bifano responded to the area of Ridgewood Road near the Maplewood border on a report of three males burglarizing cars in Maplewood. They found three people matching the description on Ridgewood Road. The suspects took off running, police said. Officers found and arrested Kyreek Josey, 18, of Newark and a 14-year-old juvenile from Newark, they said. Josey was charged with hindering and obstruction and released on his own recognizance, police said. The juvenile was released to a family member.

Later, police say, the responded two burglaries into auto on Bailey Road, both occurring in the same timeframe, according to security footage. The burglaries remain under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
Later that day, at 4:45 p.m., Millburn Police Officer Seebohm responded to a Kenilworth Drive
residence on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The resident said a man walked up her driveway, got into her BMW, and attempted to steal it, but the key fob was not in the car. The person left and got into an awaiting black Dodge Challenger. The incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
