Armed Robbers Take 44 iPhones After Holding Short Hills Clerk At Gunpoint: Police

Men from Fort Lee and Jersey City were charged after a sales clerk in Millburn was held at gunpoint and 44 iPhones were stolen, police said.

MILLBURN, NJ — Three men have been charged with robbery and other offenses after holding up an AT&T store on Thursday afternoon and stealing 44 iPhones from a safe, Millburn police said Friday.

Police said that at 12:41 p.m. Thursday, they responded to a report of an armed robbery with a handgun at the AT&T store on Route 124 in the Short Hills section of town.

An associate said he was robbed by two men in ski masks and sweatshirts. One man held him at gunpoint and took his wallet and cash while the second stole 44 Apple iPhones from the safe, police said.

Millburn Detectives Royce, Rebelo, DeRosa, and Mendelsohn arrived to begin a follow up investigation. The detectives received information that the men had fled to Fort Lee.

Working with the Fort Lee police, detectives arrested three suspects.

Anton McNeil, 27, of Fort Lee, Marcus Randolph, 19, of Jersey City, and Osvaldo Martinez, 27, of the Bronx, were arrested.

They were charged with:

  • McNeil: 2 counts robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft, weapons offenses and conspiracy.
  • Randolph: 2 counts robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft, weapons offenses, conspiracy.
  • Martinez: robbery, conspiracy, theft, weapons offenses.

All three were brought to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

The handgun and all 44 phones were recovered in Fort Lee, police said.
