After Sandy....

Questions on What Action is being taken / lack of action on the part of Government to address shortcomings related to power and the after effects of Storm Sandy.

An Open Question or two after Sandy...

1. Do we know if the local / State Government requires gas station owners to have generators on hand to pump gas?  NJ seems kind of unprepared for the next problem.

2. Is JCPL still the only game in town for residents of Short Hills / Millburn? Why is there no competition to supply and maintain the powerlines?

3.Has anyone on a state or local level done an after Sandy study?  I do know they found out that 11 billion gallons of untreated sewage went into the water systems in NJ because of lack of power and overflows, but I have not heard much about what plans are being put in place after Sandy.  Having lived through Floyd, and Irene, I had to laugh at the lack of a real answer to the problem presented by Sandy to the local municipalities and by the state government.  FEMA seems like it would rather ignor the problems and move on.

Was just wondering if anyone in government, or in a position of authority (energy management companies) has really looked into things since Sandy and if they have any thoughts onthese matters?

I did read this January article - http://millburn.patch.com/blog_posts/state-of-the-state-after-sandy in which certain recommendations were made. So, do we know if anything was actually done?
