From Proposal to Wedding Day-winter wonderland
In this season of wedding planning, look here for answers on how to go from "I will" to "I do" without the stress and mishaps. This week: winter weddings.
When having a winter wedding it might be very tempting to go all out and create a winter wonderland inside your ballroom. But using too many holiday related items will make your wedding look like a family gathering or a holiday party and not your special day. It is wise to pick one or two elements and focus on those and keep the rest of the wedding looking traditional.
One of the Pumpkin Coach Events’ December brides loved the color green, but still wanted to incorporate some winter elements into her New York City wedding. We created a delicate snowflake design in her favorite color that was repeated on invitations, menus and the seating chart, while keeping the rest of the wedding white.
Another easy way to incorporate holidays in your wedding is of course by using holiday related favors. You can have miniature personalized Christmas tree ornaments or small hand crafted dreidels with your wedding date. My personal favorites are small snow globes with the city that you are getting married in or your picture. This Canadian company makes unique and sophisticated ones -- www.custom-snowdomes.com

Get inspired by the location of your wedding. For ski resort or country weddings, serve gourmet hot chocolate and miniature marshmallows or ask your caterer to recreate one of your family’s traditional holiday treats. Make little signs explaining the dish or attach a recipe to it and create a personalized farewell gift for your guests.
For a stylish exit from the ballroom, have your guests make their own snow http://factorydirectcraft.com (just add water) and “shower” you with it when you exit. It’s fun and makes for great photos.
