Sunday Evenings
Sunday evenings are my favorite. The tail-end of a lazy Sunday, order in Chinese or Italian, kick back to watch 60 Minutes followed by our line-up of HBO shows.
Sunday evenings are my favorite. The tail-end of a lazy Sunday, order in Chinese or Italian, kick back to watch 60 Minutes followed by our line-up of HBO shows. Best of all, nobody's out. It's the one night I can count on for all my boys to be home. Friday and Saturday nights have long ago disappeared, gone the way of Legos and board games.
My teenagers are out with their friends, at parties, staying out late and coming home in the wee hours of the night long after I've gone to sleep. During the week it's soccer practice, tennis lessons, tutoring, homework and various time-consuming school projects. All good and worthwhile endeavors but nonetheless leaving little time to just hang out. That pretty much just leaves Sunday nights, and I await them in eager anticipation. Our take-out is sprawled out on the table, I take charge of the remote and as we all dig in to eat we are forced to take turns fighting off our two mutts who are constantly looking for an opening to snatch something off our plates.
Our version of quality family time.
