Train for Every Day, Train for Life
Exercise to feel and look your best, do what you want to.
Conventional fitness programs primarily focus on weight loss and cardiovascular training. It has been my experience, that when this is the focus of your training, you will be injured often and will constantly struggle with your weight. These programs neglect to address the aches and pains we accumulate daily, as well as the emotional fears, traumas we've stored in our bodies throughout our lives. Some programs go so far as to amplify and reinforce these aches and pains. Remember, more is not better!
General wear and tear, injuries, stress, poor nutrition have a detrimental effect on our bodies ability to move freely. Many people experience pain that prevents them from engaging in activities they enjoy. Train to develop "practical" strength. By "practical" I mean full body strength that you can use everyday. What do you like to do? Whatever you choose to do, you want your body to be able to keep up with you.
A simple, effective approach to training should emphasize instinctive movements, quality over quantity, and real world objectives. Your training should be primal, moving in a manner that is consistent with human evolution and our ancestors. It should also be practical, emphasizing function and performance over appearance. Finally, be playful, enjoy yourself, because if it's not fun, it doesn't get done !
