Cops Investigate Homicide, Strangulation In Essex County, NJ
An Essex County man was charged with manslaughter in connection with the strangulation death of a 32-year-old woman, authorities say.

Essex County, NJ – Essex County authorities have arrested a West Orange man in connection with a possible homicide that took place in Livingston last week.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Livingston police responded to the West Cedar Street home of Lindsay A. Ulyate, 32, around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday to find her unresponsive.
She was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:11 a.m., authorities said.

Authorities ruled the incident a homicide following an autopsy, finding that the cause of death was strangulation, prosecutors stated.
On Tuesday, police arrested Dwayne Birchler, 33, of West Orange, in connection with the incident and charged him with manslaughter.

Birchler’s bail was set at $150,000 and he was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
An investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
