MILLBURN, NJ - Several counterfeit bills were confiscated after a Bronx, N.Y. man attempted to use them to purchase goods in town on Nov. 4, according to the Millburn Police Department.
Wilson Lopez, 23, was arrested after Walgreens personnel alerted police to what they believed were three counterfeit $100 bills, police said.
Lopez had attempted to use the money to make a purchase, which was denied, police said. According to officials, when Millburn Police units arrived, Lopez fled from the store and was subsequently located near the Route 78 overpass by a Summit police officer and placed under arrest.
Eric Ranglall, 23, of Jamaica, N.Y., was also placed under arrest and charged with hindering, police said. Both Lopez and Ranglall were issued summonses and released.
