Counterfeit Money, Stolen Items In Millburn: Police

Sunglass Hut had more than $1,300 in merchandise stolen, police said.

MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Police Department are looking for two men who attempted to pass counterfeit bills and stole merchandise from the Sunglasses Hut store at the Short Hills Mall on April 16.

According to authorities, Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to the Sunglass Hut store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sunglass Hut personnel told police a black man wearing all black with short black hair attempted to purchase cleaning supplies with a counterfeit $100 bill, police said.

Another black male wearing all black with a ponytail concealed two pairs of sunglasses valued at $1,355 in his jacket and left the store without making payment, police said.

The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
