Credit Card Fraud, Merchandise Theft In Short Hills: Police
The end of September saw thousands of dollars of items stolen from stores and homes, according to the Millburn Police Department.

MILLBURN, NJ - Stolen cellphones, credit cards, wallets, clothing and jewlery totaling well over $5,000 was reported stolen at the end of September from area homes and businesses, according to the Millburn Police Department.
- On Sept. 26, Millburn Police Officer Royce responded to C lot at the mall on a burglary to motor vehicle report, police said. The employee reported parking his 2006 Hummer H3 in the lot at 4 p.m. and returning at 11:10 p.m. when he discovered his wallet, cell phone, and backpack were all missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
- On Sept. 27, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to the Verizon store at 730 Rt 124 on a theft report, police said. Verizon personnel report a Hispanic male wearing a white t-shirt and jeans took an iPhone 10S valued at $1,010 from a display, concealed it in his pocket, and left the store without making payment, police said. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
- On Sept. 28, Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to Bloomingdales on a credit card fraud report, police said. Bloomingdales personnel report 29-year-old Naeem Perry of Newark and 23-year-old Quadree Ross of Edison used a counterfeit credit card to attempt to make purchases, police said. Perry and Ross were both placed under arrest and charged with forgery, police said. Perry was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility, and Ross was released with a summons, police said.
- On Sept. 30, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to the apartments located at 190 Millburn Ave. on a burglary report, police said. The victim reports between 1:30-11:30 p.m. someone entered the apartment through a rear window, taking jewelry and miscellaneous items valued at $4,775, police said. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
- Sept. 30 saw Millburn Police Officer Salemi respond to the apartments located at 246 Millburn Ave. on a burglary report, police said. The victim reported someone entered the apartment through a rear window taking an Amazon Echo valued at $49.99. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
- On Sept. 30, Millburn Police Officer Goldfarb responded to The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report, police said. The patron reported between 3:05-3:25 p.m. someone took her wallet from her pocketbook while she walked in the mall and used one of her credit cards for a purchase in Macys, police said. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
