My son never understood the point of college visits. What was supposed to sway him? Great food? A pretty quad? (After a while, everything looked the same to him.) Now is the time for making that choice. How do you energize a child who may be tired of the process? The idea is to get your child beyond the superficial selling points that colleges sometimes try to stress, like their study-abroad programs (it's not about going overseas; it's about being on campus), and their access to cities (what do you do on campus on weekends?) Your best sources of information are current students and their parents.
