Department Chairmen, Supervisors Approved
The school board voted on four elementary supervisors and four department chairmen this week.
The first group of people to fill the newly-created elementary school instructional supervisors and high school department chairman are in place.
The Board of Education approved the appointments during its meeting on Monday night.
Approved for the elementary school instructional supervisor positions are:

- Audra Berger, Deerfield
- Jennifer Shouffler, Glenwood
- Krista LaCroix, Hartshorn
- Heather Fiory, South Mountain and Wyoming
The department chairmen are to earn an additional $10,000 stipend in addition to their salary. Approved for the chairmen positions are:
- Jessica Siegel, English
- Neil Cooperman, Math
- John Yi, Science
- Abigail Crespo, World language
Additionally, the board approved to change John Leahey's district music director. His current position is supervisor of music. The board did not approve a social studies department chairman yet.

Schools Supt. Richard Brodow said high school officials put together a rubic for picking the department chairmen. There were multiple candidates for each position, the high school administrators deliberated and made a recomendation.
