Details Of 4 Millburn Car Burglaries And Break-Ins Released By Police

The Millburn police gave a rundown of car thefts, break-ins, and chases in November. Several items and a clarinet were stolen from vehicles.

MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police recently released details of car burglaries and thefts so far in November. Here is a rundown of recent incidents:

Last Tuesday at 10:45 p.m., Millburn Police Officer Aliotta responded to a Sagamore Road residence on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The resident said a man wearing a hoodie, black pants, and a puffer jacket attempted to enter the vehicle. Lt. Del Russo and Officer Seebohm attempted to stop someone matching the description on Wyoming Avenue, but the man fled on foot.

However, afterward, Jean Alexander, 18, of East Orange, was found in Maplewood, police said. He was charged with multiple counts of credit card theft, burglary, obstruction, and resisting arrest. He was later released on his own recognizance, police said.

On Nov. 11, at 10:35 a.m. Millburn Police Officer Dalakian stopped a grey Honda Accord in
the parking deck on Essex Street because it had a stolen license plate, police said. The investigation also revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle with no registration or insurance, police said.

Shemar Brown, 22, of East Orange was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, false documents, forgery, fraud, and related motor vehicle offenses, police said. He was later released to Wayne Police on an outstanding warrant.

On Nov. 10 at 11:39 a.m., Officer Carroll saw a stolen 2022 BMW 740 traveling on White Oak Ridge Road near Long Hill Drive. Carroll attempted to stop the vehicle, but it eluded him, police said. He
pursued the car to JFK Parkway north, but had to stop due to safety concerns. The incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On Nov. 9, at 8:38 p.m., Millburn Police Officer Jezewski responded to a Hobart Avenue residence
on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The resident said someone rummaged through it. Loose change and an owner’s manual were reported missing. This incident remains under investigation.

On Nov. 9, at 7 p.m., Millburn Police Officer Nakashian responded to a Westview Road residence on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The resident someone rummaged through the vehicle overnight and took a clarinet and loose change, police said.
