Downtown Roads Will Be Closed Monday

The roads will be shut for the annual President's Cup Race.

The President's Cup is coming Monday night, and it means roads will be closed for two hours to accommodate the event.

Millburn police will start closing roads at 7:30 p.m., and the roads will not be open until 9:30 p.m. Millburn Avenue will be closed between Short Hills Avenue and Wyoming Avenue, Main Street between Rector Street and Brookside Drive will be closed and all of Essex Street will be closed.

Traffic will be detoured, but police said motorists should expect major delays and gridlocking. Police encouraged anyone visiting venues along the race course, including downtown, to park in other areas outside downtown and walk or they may be stuck downtown for the duration of the race.
