Driver Rear-Ends Millburn Police Car On JFK Parkway

The officer and driver were taken to Morristown Medical Center with minor injuries.

A Honda Civic rear-ended a Millburn Police Department patrol car on Sunday evening, sending two officers to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to the MPD, the driver of the Civic was found to be at fault for the collision, which took place at 6:28 p.m. on JFK Parkway North while an officer was responding to an unrelated crash involving two motorcycles.

When the officer left the scene of the accident traveling north in the left lane, the driver of the Civic – later identified as Sara Mendez - struck him from behind.

The officer and Mendez were both transported to Morristown Medical Center with minor injuries.
