An Evening with Richard Rodgers and Friends

40th SEASON GRAND FINALE

The  Metropolitan Orchestra of New Jersey is pleased to present its 40th season grand finale, “An Evening With Richard Rodgers and Friends”, to be performed on Saturday, June 2, at 7:00 pm at the Hartshorn School, 400 Hartshorn Drive, Short Hills.  The evening’s performance, under the direction of Maestro, Michael Stratechuk, will feature orchestral works of American composer, Richard Rodgers – “Victory at Sea”, selections from “The Sound of Music and “The King and I” – to name a few.  Among his contemporaries and ‘friends’ will be selections by Jerry Bock:  Symphonic Dances from “Fiddler On the Roof”), Lerner and Loewe: “My Fair Lady”, Ferde Grofe’:  On the Trail from Grand Canyon Suite, and Irving Berlin:  “A Symphonic Portrait”.  Also included is a piano solo with bass and drums of Richard Rodgers ballet music, Slaughter on Tenth Avenue (soloist:  Mark
Yolleck from Montclair).

Suggested donation:  $15.
