The Millburn-Short Hills Tziona Chapter of Hadassah is proud to welcome Gil Marks, an award-winning cookbook author, to speak at its annual Hannuukah party on Tuesday, November 30th at 7:30 p.m. Gil Marks will speak about his recently published work The Encyclopedia of Jewish Food. A few of Gill's recipes, prepared by chapter members, will be available for guests to taste. After obtaining Masters degrees in Social Work and History and a Rabbinic Ordination, Marks emerged as a leading authority in culinary arts and Jewish foods in particular. Marks was the editor of Kosher Gourmet Magazine from 1986-1992, and then he turned his focus to writing history, fiction and plays. He is the award-winning author of Olive Trees and Honey: A Treasury of Vegetarian Recipes from Jewish Communities Around the World . The Hannukah party is open to all Hadassah members and to anybody interested in joining Hadassah. The cost is $25 per person in advance/$30 at the door and includes a copy of The Encyclopedia of Jewish Food.
