Palm Sunday Concert

Community Congregational Church will present its annual Lenten Concert on Sunday, March 28th at 5:00 pm.  The New York Choral Society will join with the church's Chancel Choir in a program featuring choral works by Maurice Durufle' and Francis Poulenc.

The women of the Choral Society will sing Poulenc's Litanies to Our Lady of Roc-Amadour; the men of the  Society will sing Poulenc's setting of Four Little Prayers of Saint Francis of Assisi.  The combined choirs will perform Maurice Durufle's Requiem, which is generally considered his masterpiece; it quickly became a modern classic and a favorite of choral groups and their audiences. John Daly Goodwin, Music Director of the Choral Society, will conduct.  David Ralph, Community Church's Interim Music Director, will accompany and also play organ and piano music by Joseph Jongen and Erik Satie.

The concert is a great way to begin Holy Week, so bring your friends and family and enjoy the beauty of this seasonally appropriate music that sets the tone for the week.
