On the Wednesday, June 23 at 7pm, author Dr. Margaret Brisco will be reading a selection of her short stories at the Millburn Library. Margaret will be reading excerpts from her collection of short story collections "Women in Transition," and "Metamorphoses." These stories are small, unique snapshots of different women's lives—certain are young, some are old, others sick, in love, out of love, healthy, happy or melancholy. All are portrayed in a deeply humane and touching style that is uniquely Dr. Margaret Brisco's.
Born in Trieste, Italy, Margaret Brisco graduated from Facolta di Medicina e Chirurgia in Padova, Italy. She practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in northern New Jersey for 35 years and was a pioneer at a time when few women became physicians and even fewer undertook specialties involving surgery. Since her retirement from medicine in 1996, she has devoted herself to writing, and is the founding member of The Write Group of Montclair. Dr. Brisco is currently writing her memoir.
