The Metropolitan Orchestra of New Jersey presents “Family Favorites”

The Metropolitan Orchestra of New Jersey will present its winter concert on Sunday, March 6, at 3:00 PM at Community Congregational Church.

Titled, “Family Favorites”, conductor Michael Stratechuk will lead the orchestra in an afternoon of program music. Audiences will delight in hearing how the instruments of the orchestra help develop the story elements in each selection.

Featured in the first half of the program will be Prokofieff’s,  Peter and the Wolf, with narration by former Millburn Township Mayor, Thomas C. McDermott, Jr.

Also included in the afternoon’s performance will be Copland’s  Hoe-Down from Rodeo; Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain; Bernstein’s West Side StoryMedley; and selections from Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks.

 Families are welcome.   Admission is free.
