Fire At Short Hills Hilton Forces Temporary Evacuation: Millburn Officials

Millburn fire officials stated that a three-alarm blaze took place at the Hilton Hotel in Short Hills.

MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn fire officials say that a three-alarm blaze at the Hilton Hotel in Short Hills on Monday afternoon forced a temporary evacuation of the building and caused the presence of smoke on the upper floors, a report states. The fire was “minor” and the hotel was back in operation around 7 p.m., officials said.

The fire began around 3:30 p.m. while workers were repairing the roof, and hot tar fell on plywood expansion joints between the concrete sections of the hotel and restaurant and caught fire, Millburn fire officials told TAP Into.
