Fleet Feet Run for Rachel

Hundreds participate in annual charity event to stop domestic violence.

As seen in this Patch video, fleet feet – and not so fleet feet – from Millburn-Short Hills,  Livingston and beyond ran on the Livingston Oval on Sunday morning in the 11th Annual Run for Rachel to raise awareness of domestic violence. More than 800 men, women, teens and children took part in the run, which attracted runners from throughout New Jersey and the winner, Nick Birosik from Easton, Penn.

The Run for Rachel raises funds to benefit the Rachel Coalition, a partnership of nine northern New Jersey organizations working together to serve victims of domestic violence.

Services include a 24-hour crisis response line (973-740-1233), a suburban emergency safe house (with kosher provisions), counseling, support groups, legal and medical assistance, outreach and education programs.
