Flooding And Preparedness Session To Be Held In Millburn This Week

Millburn, which flooded during hurricane Ida in September, is holding a session on preparing for natural disasters this week.

MILLBURN, NJ — If people didn't take hurricane preparedness seriously before the recent flooding in Millburn during Hurricane Ida in September, they surely will now. The storm, which had been downgraded to a tropical depression by the time it hit New Jersey, dumped more than 7 inches in the area in a short time, swelling waterways and taking 30 lives in the state.

The Township of Millburn is hosting a Hurricane Preparedness Session with residents this Wednesday at 7 p.m. in person at Town Hall and virtually on Zoom.

Members of Millburn’s Office of Emergency Management will give a presentation on natural disaster preparedness, including as it relates to flooding and the upcoming hurricane season that begins on June 1.
