Guest Runner Joins Millburn Police At Special Olympics Torch Run

MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn Police Department continued its annual tradition by participating in the 2026 Special Olympics Torch Run.

A total of 15 Millburn police officers took part in the event, raising funds to support the Special Olympics movement and promote awareness of its mission.

This year's Torch Run also featured a special participant, Millburn High School sophomore Robert Stiska, who joined the officers during the run.

The group made its way through the Millburn High School driveway, where hundreds of students and faculty members gathered to cheer on the runners and show their support for the Special Olympics Torch Run.

The Torch Run begins at Millburn Avenue and Vauxhall Road, where officers from the Union Police Department pass the torch to Millburn officers. The Millburn team then carries the Flame of Hope approximately three miles through town before passing the torch to the Summit Police Department after the Broad Street Bridge in Summit, continuing the statewide relay in support of Special Olympics New Jersey.
