Guided Meditation Brings Birdsong And Calm To Short Hills Arboretum

The fall equinox session will invite visitors to unwind among the sights and sounds of Cora Hartshorn Arboretum.

SHORT HILLS, NJ — Guided meditation and birdsong meet at Cora Hartshorn Arboretum.

Among the Birds: Breath, Presence, & Guided Meditation” will run from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, September 20, at 324 Forest Drive South.

The fall equinox session invites participants to slow down among the arboretum’s sights and sounds. Visitors can “catch your breath and melt into bird song,” organizers said, then explore the forest.

Diana of Happy Heart Yoga Shala will lead the class. Arboretum event organizers describe Diana’s classes as welcoming, joyful and accessible. She has studied with yoga master Sri Dharma Mittra for more than 20 years and has led classes and retreats in the United States and abroad since 2012.

Chairs and mats are included, and participants may request a mat when registering. The program is recommended for ages 15 and older, although everyone is welcome.

Admission is $15 for one person or $20 for two. Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.
