Handbag Thief Arrested, Jailed In Millburn: Police

Kamad Minitee took a pair of handbags from Bloomingdale's, police said.

MILLBURN, NJ - A 23-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with shoplifting after taking two handbags from Bloomingdale's on June 12, according to the Millburn Police.

According to authorities, the Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Bloomingdale's on a theft report. The man, later identified as Kamad Minitee, took two handbags valued at $650 and left the store without making payment, police said.

Minitee had fled in a 2016 Kia with tinted windows that was stopped by Detective Mendelsohn on Rt. 78 in Union, police said. Minitee was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility, police said.
