Cafe Monet celebrates French Independence Day with live music, and, of course, escargot.

Can't get to Paris for Bastille Day? Cafe Monet is closer to home and the folks there are celebrating the day with a prix fixe menu ($29.99) and live music.

Also, if Bastille Day is getting you in the mood for French specialties (other than pomme frites) you'll find escargot, steak au poivre and pate on the menu.

If you still can't get enough of French National Independence Day there's also a celebration at the FIAF- French Institute Alliance Francaise from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Van Vleck House and Gardens in Montclair.
