MILLBURN, NJ — "Come to shop — and help others at the same time," say the organizers of an upcoming rummage sale at Community Congregational Church, with proceeds benefiting two groups that give food, diapers, and ultimately housing to families in need.

The group will accept goods to sell all this coming week.

The sale will take place at the churchyard, 200 Hartshorn Drive, Short Hills, on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donations are being accepted this week, May 1 to 5, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Donations can be dropped off at the collection point behind the church. Items that are damaged, stained, or not in working condition are not accepted. For the complete list of items that can be donated, visit Communitychurch.org/rummagesale.

'Designer Labels'

Organizers said, of the sale, "In the Boutique you will find designer labels at fantastic prices - brand-name clothes, shoes, handbags, jackets and more. Browse the rest of the sale for toys,
kitchen supplies, housewares, clothing, artwork and sports equipment."

“The Boutique and Rummage Sale is a rewarding way to help two local charities that do so much for the surrounding community,” said Rev. Dr. Johann Bosman, lead pastor at Community Congregational Church. “Shoppers know their donations will benefit others while finding items in new or like-new condition at great prices."

Groups Provide Food, Diapers, Shelter

Proceeds will benefit The Warehouse NJ and The Oasis Distribution Center in Irvington.

The Warehouse NJ is run by township resident Kim Sleeman, and helps individuals and families transition into permanent housing following a time of crisis. Since 2019 TWNJ has helped over 720families get a fresh start.

Oasis Distribution Center in Irvington provides food, diapers and feminine hygiene products once a month during the school year to over 350 families in need. LocalMillburn/Short Hills families, along with church members, volunteer at Oasis with their children to help distribute the items.
