Here's What High Schoolers Will Be Reading This Summer In Millburn
This year's "Big Read" book is "Let the Great World Spin" by Colum McCann.

Want to know what Millburn High School students will be reading this summer?
The High School English Department announced that Colum McCann’s National Book Award winning novel “Let the Great World Spin” will be the school’s 4th annual “Big Read,” which is required work for all 9th to 12th grade students.
Let the Great World Spin is a novel of New York that uses the historical event of Philip Petit’s 1974 high wire walk between the World Trade Center towers to reflect on grief and loss in the genre of post 9/11 fiction. It was first published in 2009, eight years after the fall of the towers. It was adopted as the community read for Newtown High School after the tragedy at Sandy Hook elementary, and inspired the very successful Narrative4 Storytelling initiative.
