
Peter Webster will become the general manager of the 304-room Hilton Short Hills on March 11, hotel officials announced today.
Webster has over 20 years of hospitality experience in the United States, Caribbean and the United Kingdom. He will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the resort porperty.
“We are very excited to have Peter managing this prestigious property which recently reopened its first-rate Spa Chakra facility after a major multi-million dollar renovation,” said Barry Lewin, senior vice president for hotel operations for Hilton Hotels Corporation in a written statement. “Peter’s knowledge and expertise of the international luxury market is key to this position.
"The Hilton Short Hills’ close proximity to midtown Manhattan, its location adjacent to the upscale Mall at Short Hills, has fostered a reputation and legacy as being one of the area’s best luxury hotels in the metro New York area. Peter’s prior background and experience serving in a GM capacity at distinctive Hilton Caribbean hotels and his level of sophistication will be a tremendous asset to this upscale property."

Webster most recently served as the general manager of the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau in the Bahamas.
He was instrumental in overseeing a $15M refurbishment program which included all 288 guestrooms, suites and corridors, meeting space as well as new restaurant and bar concepts, hotel officials said.
Webster studied at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and graduated with a stage management diploma with honors.

Hilton Short Hills features 304 rooms, including 37 deluxe suites, Executive Tower level accommodations and executive lounge, all day-dining at The Terrace and The Patio Bar and Grill, The Retreat Lobby Bar, indoor heated 50-foot Romanesque-style pool, whirlpool, seasonal outdoor pool, fitness center, and Business Center.
The hotel also recently reopened the newly renovated $7M, 15,500-square foot Spa Chakra facility encompassing, a full-service beauty salon and gift boutique.
The hotel also offers 13,000 square feet of flexible meeting space including conference and executive suites, Executive Boardroom and Grand Ballroom.
