Kootz Play Summer Concert Series Sunday

The concert is at 7-8:30 p.m. in Taylor Park.

After a three-year hiatus, The Kootz will return to the Millburn summer concert stage Sunday at 7 p.m.

Update: The concert will go on as scheduled Sunday, but it will be held inside the Bauer Center in Taylor Park.

The band performs the classic-rock sons of the 1960s and 1970s and has played around the tri-state area for the past 10 years.  They are particularly recognized for their  rotating lineup drawn from a pool New Jersey musician-singers who hail from Essex, Union, Bergen, Passaic, Monmouth and Sussex counties.

For the Millburn show there will be an expanded, five-piece Kootz-lineup.  Band veteran and leader Glenn Taylor of Caldwell will perform on guitar, vocals and keyboards. Bassist Peter Scance of Fair Lawn will wirelessly wend his way through the crowd. The show also marks the Millburn Kootz debut of Dave Hirschberg of Oradell on drums and lead vocals and Ron Weinstein from Asbury Park on guitar, harmonica and lead vocals.  Cliffside Park's Jerry DeLisio also teams-up with The Kootz, rounding-out the lineup and bringing his saxophone to the show, as well as flute and vocals.

The rain date for the show is Aug. 1. In the case of rain, call 973-564-7096 for an update.
