Laughs to Raise Money for CASA

The Essex County organization held a comedy night in Short Hills to raise money for its work to support foster children.

There were lots of laughs on Friday night when Essex County CASA held a comedy night at Community Congregational Church in Short Hills.

The event was to raise money for CASA, short for Court Appointed Special Advocates, and featured Buddy Fitzpatrick, Eileen Kelly and Carey Reilly. CASA conducts work on behalf of the more than 2,800 children in foster care in Essex County.

Fitzpatrick is a regular on the New York City comedy circuit and has been featured on Comedy Central, ABC and A&E and was a New York finalist of Last Comic Standing. It's not the first time CASA has teamed up with local mom and comic Kelly for comedy events. She was recently a finalist on Nick at Nite's "Funniest Mom in America" and named one of "New York's funniest women." Reilly is a veteran of New York City's top comedy clubs and is a recurring comic on NBC's Today show.
