Lice- What Should I Do At Home? Delousing Your Home
Lice Be Gone, non-toxic chemical free lice removal , Short Hills, NJ 973-467-5423

Most Families spend too much time cleaning their home in their attempts at getting rid of head lice. Our theory at Lice Be Gone is that because cleaning is easy and most families do not know how to get rid of lice or how to treat head lice, house cleaning seems like a quick fix. Here are some tips to help remove lice from your house.
- Lice cannot live off the host for more than a day or two, so there is little benefit to using lice sprays on furniture or bedding. Chemicals can create potential environmental and health risks.
- Vacuum couches and carpets once.
- For anyone who had lice, wash only clothes and linens that have been used in the last 1-3 days and will be used in the next 1-3 days in hot water or dry on high heat once.
- Place anything that cannot be washed (hats, backpacks, stuffed animals, etc.) in the dryer for 30
- If an item cannot be washed or put in a dryer (large stuffed animals, etc.), place it in a sealed plastic bag for 3 days.
- Clean all combs and hairbrushes in a solution of 1 part ammonia to 4 parts water for 10 minutes once.
- Discard or place all hair ties and ribbons in a sealed plastic bag for 3 days.
