March of Dimes to Honor Millburn High School Student
2018 North Central New Jersey Signature Chefs Auction set for October 22, 2018
March of Dimes is pleased to announce that Alex Meltzer, a student at Millburn High School, will serve as Honoree for the 2018 North Central New Jersey Signature Chefs Auction.
In early December 2000, Kayla, Alex and Ashley Meltzer were born 14 weeks premature weighing just over 1 pound each. Surfactant therapy, developed with funding from March of Dimes, helped save their lives. After 3.5 difficult months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the Meltzer triplets were sent home on heart monitors, apnea monitors and 24 hour medical care.
They are now 17 years old, healthy, thriving and excited to give back to the organization that saved their lives. Alex Meltzer, from March for Babies team “Team Meltzer Triplets” has raised over $20,000 for March of Dimes and served as the 2017 Ambassador. Meltzer also serves on March of Dimes National Youth Council, assisting March of Dimes in the design and implementation of programs targeted to young people.

March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction will be held on October 22, 2018 at the Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City, NJ. Celebrity Chef Dale Talde will be joined by a stellar lineup of chefs from more than a dozen of North Jersey’s most prominent restaurants. It is an elegant evening of networking, music, a live and silent auction of distinctive gifts and packages, and a mission program. Funds raised help support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy so that every baby can have the best possible start.
